What I'm Reading Now...

I just dropped in to say "Hey Y'all"!

I was thinking that today I would share with you what I have been reading lately. The first book in the Cape Refuge Series by Terri Blackstock.

I have read the Newpointe 911 series and the Restoration series, and I loved them both! This one however, is a slow starter for me. I'm hoping it will take off soon! Has anyone else read this? Maybe you would like to share what you are reading, just leave a comment.

I'm thinking about doing something crafty! I'll share that with you later...

Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!!

It's Dogwood Time in Tyler County!

I love springtime! And here in southeast Texas, the dogwoods and azaleas are just beautiful!

My hubby and I live in the country, midways between his hometown and my hometown. Hence the name Midway Community. During this time of year, my hometown celebrates spring with three weekends of festivals, with the third weekend being the Dogwood Festival. It is a time filled with lots of activities. A parade, arts and crafts, a car show, food and fun! You can read more about it here.

Did I mention food? One of the festival favorites is pork-a-bobs! The long lines prove it to be delicious! So, I thought I would share my home version of this great fair food.

Start with thin boneless pork chops, cut in half lengthwise. Put in a ziploc bag and add Dale's marinade.

Just enough to cover the chops. Let it sit in the marinade for about 30 minutes in the fridge. Then skewer and grill them over a low heat until done. Easy peasy! And yummy! I hope you enjoy it!

Oh and one more thing, I have one follower! Yay, thanks Mom!!

Happy Spring!

Springtime and New Blogger!

Hi there and welcome to my very first post! I am not a journaler but I have been thinking about blogging for a while. BUT, I was "skeered"! A fault that I suffer from, the fear of the unknown. But maybe this little blog will help me through it! Ha!

Anyway I thought I would share the things that interest me. Such as recipes, I like to try new ones! Or oil painting or sewing or crafting. The list can go on...! I tend to start more projects than I finish, Ha!

For now, I will share some springtime pictures I took at home and around our little town.

I hope you enjoy and come back again! Happy Spring!
